One of the most powerful stories from Edison’s life is about his childhood and his mother’s belief in him. As legend tells it, a school dismissed young Edison as “mentally addled.” His mother, however, told him something very different — that he was a genius and deserved better education. She taught him at home, protecting his confidence and nurturing his creativity.
